Join Dr. Hornbrook as he discusses how to simplify the cementation and adhesive bonding process of indirect restorations. This CE webinar will address anterior adhesive cementation, posterior adhesive cementation, and posterior luting cementation. Step-by-step protocols will be described to predictably cement ceramic veneers and all-ceramic crowns and bridges including placement of Feldspathic, lithium disilicate, and ZrO2 restorations. Correct preparation and adhesion to both enamel and dentin, including recommended materials to optimize dentinal adhesion will be explored. Ideal surface preparation of the different restorative materials will also be discussed to increase adhesion and increase long term prognosis. Utilization of new alkaline-based, self-adhesive cement and the advantages of these cements will also be discussed.
During this CE webinar, we will • Identify when and why “adhesive cementation” is required with specific types of restorations • Recognize how to maximize adhesion to both enamel and dentin to increase restoration retention • Distinguish what surface treatments need to be utilized for different restorative materials to increase adhesion • Ascertain when non-adhesive, luting cementation is acceptable based on prep design and material usage
